New Classical Tracks - Phoenix Chorale

Phoenix Chorale and Christopher Gabbitas, conductor: Sun, Moon, Stars, Rain (Signum Classics)

Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas recently released Sun, Moon, Stars, Rain, his second recording with the Phoenix Chorale. He describes the theme behind the album as, “this idea of the earth rotating and the seasons coming and […] going to permanence of things which are far greater than us as humans. But [also] things by which we mark our time, we mark our own seasons of life, we mark our emotions and which we return to.”

Christopher has a storied background, starting off as a young professional singer in a cathedral choir in England. He then went on to study music and law at university. But that all changed when he was asked to audition for The King's Singers, and he had to pick one of the two. Find out more on New Classical Tracks with host Julie Amacher.
