New Classical Tracks - Norman Krieger

Norman Krieger, piano — Norman Krieger plays Gershwin; with the Prague National Symphony and Neal Gittleman, conductor (Universal Classics)

When host Julie Amacher spoke to pianist Norman Krieger recently, he had just finished teaching a lesson at the Brevard Music Festival in North Carolina, where he’s taught and performed every summer for the past 16 years. During the school year, he’s chair of the piano department and professor of music at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

Krieger is also a busy recording artist. His most recent release features the music of George Gershwin with the Prague National Symphony. On this episode of New Classical Tracks, Norman talks about how he approaches the music of this iconic American composer.
